1. The overprint reads: TAFARI or ZAUDITU / 4 Yekatit 1909 / 11-2-1917
2. All inverted overprints occur at the top or bottom of the stamp.
3. There is a wide range in darkness and clarity of the handstamps.
4. Some overprints are know on previously used copies of the 1909 Definitive issue, probably done by a clerk who did the overprinting. Genuine used stamps should show a correct date or have the cancel on top of the handstamp.
