1. Handstamp necessary because the stamps orderded for the Coronation had not arrived. 2. The Amharic reads: "Haile Selassie I, King of Kings of Ethiopia / 2 November 1930." 3.Reprinted in 1931 for the remainder sale to Thomas Cliffe. The original handstamp was used, and reprints are indistinguishable from the originals. 4.Reported in pairs with red and violet handstamps. Also handstamped in sheet margins on 1/8, 1/4, and 1/2 m. 5. FORGER B has used the original handstamp (or a close forgery) to produce many "errors" in red, violet, and blue. The handstamp is partly deteriorated and fuzzy, particularly in the upper left. |
